Installation InstructionsVERNON MANUFACTURING RECOMMENDS THAT A QUALIFIED TECHNICIAN PERFORM THIS WORK. ALL MACHINES SHOULD BE INSTALLED USING A DEDICATED CIRCUIT AND SURGE PROTECTION IN ACCORDANCE WITH ALL FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL BUILDING CODES. CHANGES IN WIRING OR OBVIOUS SHORTING WILL VOID WARRANTY.No exit holes have been drilled for the power or valve wiring. Your application will dictate where these should be located by the installer. No mounting hardware is furnished. Again, your application will dictate what is used. Wiring to the key box and pulse unit should be installed in conduit. To reveal the connector strip in the key box, remove the white locking bezel by unscrewing the keybolts using the special key. Pigtails are for reference only and should be discarded after installation. Use forked connectors (furnished) and solder for final installation. If wires are NOT marked - connect all wires COLOR TO COLOR. Mount the pulser box close to the flow sensor. The distance can be no greater than the length of shielded wire furnished. This wire can be shortened as necessary. DO NOT CUT AND SPLICE THIS WIRE. Other than the shielded wire, 16ga should be used. The flow sensor is marked for direction of flow. Orient and mount it ahead of the valve. The flow sensor MUST be mounted with a minimum of 10 x ID of straight pipe ahead of the fitting and a minimum of 5 x ID after. This is CRITICAL for accurate readings. Refer to drawing. DO NOT REMOVE WHITE PLASTIC ADAPTOR FROM "T" FITTING. Hand tighten the red ring on the flow sensor to the plastic fitting.
The water valve is marked for direction of flow. It must be installed in a horizontal, upright position, protected from freezing and mounted low in the system to create backpressure against it. If not mounted in this manner, it may not shut off correctly. A gate valve is recommended ahead of the water valve to aid in cleaning and repair. Tie the red and black wires from the key box connector strip to the control solenoid on the valve. If your machine is equipped with an automatic drain, wire both solenoids in parallel. Green wires from the solenoids are ground and can be connected to a bolt on the valve. CONNECT ALL WIRES COLOR TO COLOR. Gallon Registry
LOCK OUT for non-payment of accountIndividual lock out is provided by means of a 10pst switch mounted at the bottom of each module of 10 keys. Access by removing the white locking bezel. The switch can be actuated with a pointed object. DO NOT USE A PENCIL. Up is on (normal). Down is off (locked out). |
